Description
This Richmond Oak Extending table 1320 mm x 900 mm has two centre leaf extensions of 330 mm stored within the width of the table. The length of the Richmond Oak Extending table 1320 can be extended to 1650 mm with one extension or 1980 mm with both extensions.
This table seats six people without extensions. If you add one extension you gain surface area for serving and with two extensions you gain an additional two to four place settings depending on how friendly your guests are!
The Richmond Oak Extending table 1320 has a chunky top with a softened square edge and a lovely square leg with the corners softened. The Richmond oak range is protected by a matt lacquer finish which enhances the grain and lustre.
Extending table mechanism
The top extension is dual acting. Pulling on one end also opens the other to reveal the two extensions. They sit side by side on timber bars covered in soft material padding to protect them.
The legs are each fastened by two strong bolts to make a rigid structure. The main top and each section of extension has male and female locating pins to align the table sections. When they are fitted each section also has a spring loaded latch to hold each section together, just in case someone pulls on the end of the table and a wine glass disappears down through the gap.
When moving the table it needs to be picked up from underneath the side rails to avoid putting unnecessary strain on the sliding mechanism by lifting on the top. Dragging tables is risky as catching a leg on carpet or the edge of a tile can damage the table and the lag at the fixing point.
The Richmond Oak Collection
The Richmond Oak collection has a chunky top with a softened square edge. With lovely square legs with the corners softened, it is protected by a matt lacquer finish which enhances the grain and lustre. The contemporary tarnished metal twin fixing handles set it apart from more traditional oak furniture. The top and legs give this collection a softer modern look, while its lovely light oak colour looks great in any home. The field and panel tops and sides, internally tapered legs and front frames (apart from the dining tables) and dove tailed drawer boxes are added features of the Richmond Oak range. The lacquer on the Richmond Oak range makes it moisture resistant and maintenance, free requiring only dusting if you please or a wipe lightly damp cloth to remove any sticky marks.
